LIP BLUSH

AFTERCARE GUIDE

Welcome to your Lip Blush Aftercare Guide!

Your lips have just undergone a cosmetic tattoo treatment and will need gentle care while they heal.

Lip blush can appear significantly darker, brighter and more defined immediately after treatment. This is completely normal. Both the colour and definition will soften as the lips heal and gradually settle into your final result.

YOUR AFTERCARE PRODUCT

Your BARE. ATELIER aftercare product is provided to keep the lips comfortable and supported throughout the healing process. It also serves as a moisture barrier to protect your tattooed area from bacteria and other irritants.

Immediately after your appointment:

  • Your artist will apply the first layer of aftercare before you leave the studio.

  • Do not apply additional product immediately after your appointment unless instructed by your artist.

  • Allow the initial layer to remain on the lips and avoid unnecessary touching.

THE FIRST EVENING

HEALING SCHEDULE: DAYS 1 - 7

GENERAL AFTER CARE

Do’s & Dont’s For the first 7 Days:

COLD SORE PRECAUTION

Lip blush can trigger a cold sore outbreak in clients with a history of herpes simplex virus (HSV).

If you are prone to cold sores, as per BARE. Atelier’s ‘GUIDE: Treatment Preparation’ we recommend speaking with your GP or pharmacist before your appointment about preventative antiviral treatment and whether this is appropriate for you.

Your healthcare professional can advise you on the appropriate medication and timing. BARE. Atelier does not prescribe antiviral medication.

If you develop a cold sore during the healing process, avoid picking or touching the area and speak with your GP or pharmacist about appropriate treatment.

THE HEALING PROCESS,

WHAT TO EXPECT

Healing varies from person to person, It is important to be patient and trust the process during the initial healing period. Temporary darkness, lightness, patchiness and colour fluctuations are all a normal part of the healing process.

AFTER HEALING

Once the lips have completely healed, you can return to your usual lip products and skincare routine.

For long-term colour preservation:

● Keep your lips hydrated.

● Use an SPF lip product when exposed to the sun.

● Avoid unnecessary exfoliation.

● Minimise prolonged UV exposure.

UV exposure, skincare, lifestyle and individual skin characteristics can all influence how quickly cosmetic tattoo pigment fades.

YOUR PERFECTING APPOINTMENT

Lip blush is a two-step process.

Your initial appointment establishes the foundation, while your perfecting appointment allows us to assess how your skin has healed and refine colour, saturation and symmetry where required.

Your lips need adequate time to fully heal before their final result can be assessed.

Please do not book or undertake a touch-up before your recommended healing period.
